A Logical model was first designed and documented, followed with a physical
implementation targeting Microsoft SQL Server 2000. A Microsoft
SQL Server DTS package was developed to import and process the
sixteen branch databases, cleansing invalid data and normalizing and
de-normalizing certain sets of tables to populate the new centralized SQL
Server database. The resulting data transformations then feeds a
web based reporting intranet which utilizes Crystal Reports
Enterprise to allow management to drill down into the data
warehouse, providing them with the historical and "national" views
they need. Future enhancements include additional analysis
functionality, route efficiency analysis and round trip
synchronization of cleansed data back to their original Branch
